MY REVIEW

Fifa 13

Best Game of My Life. I loved every aspect of this game, from the complete control you have over your team to the intricate workings of the manager career.
When I rate my games, I usually do it on a star scale, because that is usually what is on the fifa scale when you want to look at teams.
Fifa is amazingly well put together. If I had to pick this or ten other games, it isn't even a full thought. I just take fifa.
The way that it pulls you in from the Main menu to the intensity up till the final whistle, it is the best game out there.
There have been major step ups in the game, from the new skill set of controls to the way that computer teammates make their runs down the line.
The shots are more realistic, making your shot so much harder when the opponent is pressuring you. You have to work to create enough space for you to take a shot.
The computer also learns to step up to the ball when an attacker is unguarded, and they learn to block the shots and pressure early.
The online gaming is fifa's triumph card against their top rivals, PES 2013. Fifa has an almost unlimited amount of gamers, so waiting for a game takes less then half a minute, usually.
And most importantly, Fifa has a new update that changes the teams rating based on form in real life, making your team even more realistic.
Grading this game on a scale of 1 to 5 stars, I would give it a 5, due to the fact that I just can't stop playing it, and it is extremely fun.

My Summer
What I plan to do this summer is to relax. It has been a hectic school year, and I really need a break.
I also need to take some Rad Ac classes to make it so that I don't have to take many senior classes, so I can just take some releases.
Number one thing on my list of things to do is to sleep. I can't remember the last time I had a full 8 hours of sleep. Even on the weekends I've had to get up early to memorize the Quran, which is the muslim holy book.
Another thing I need to do is memorize at least three or four chapters of the Quran, so that my parents will be pleased, and let me do things that I would like to do.
I want to try out for menace, in order to strengthen my skills, and gain some chemistry with the teammates of mine who will be trying out as well. It will be fun, and I expect us to win most of our games.
I need to gain weight as well, in order to be more of a threat to opposing teams. I plan to gain at least twenty pounds over the summer, just so I don't get babied around next season.
I am going running, and as of right now am thinking of joining the cross country team, so I can stay fit for the spring season. I also am thinking of joining the football team, seeing as they need a kicker.
Ramadan is coming up in a month, and it is the holiest month in the islamic calendar, and also the most fun, because we stay out as late as we would like, with no objections from our parents.
I love being at the masjid, and staying the night over there, because it is really peaceful and gives me a lot of comfort.
I can't wait for this summer!

3 sports story reviews

http://www.nytimes.com/2013/04/11/sports/soccer/lionel-messi-to-the-rescue-as-barcelona-advances-to-champions-league-semifinals.html?_r=0

This article was an interesting one because it talked about the recently played Champion's League game between Fc Barcelona, and Paris Saint-Germain.
These two teams are exact opposites, one a gloried team, built from the bottom with players grown from their youth squad. The other, PSG, a team taken over by rich oil tycoons, who injected money to bring superstars to the capital of France.
The game was thrilling, really one that should be read about.

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1600157-juventus-vs-bayern-munich-score-grades-and-post-match-reaction

The article is over Fc Bayern vs Juventus, and the highlights and grades each player should get.
Fc Bayern and Juventus were two teams who had played yesterday as well. This game wasn't nearly as close as the Barcelona-PSG game.
Bayern absolutely crushed the timid looking Juventus, who were previously thought to have the best defense in all of Europe. That defense doesn't look nearly as good after they lost 4-0 on aggregate.

http://www.nba.com/games/20130410/PHXDAL/gameinfo.html?ls=iref:nbahpgt[0021201169]?ls=iref:nbahpts

This article talks about the game between the Phoenix Suns, and the Dallas Mavericks. The Suns finally ended a ten game losing streak, and in the process ended the Mav's hopes of making the playoffs.
This game also ended Dallas's record of beating the Suns ten games in a row at home, making this the first time that Phoenix has beaten Dallas since 2007.
This game ended a lot of good things for Dallas, but also ended a lot of bad things for Phoenix.

Tryouts will begin the week of March 11th, and end the Thursday of that week. There will be a 25 spots open on the varsity team.
The Riders will have 12 season games against various teams, with the farthest being an away game against Fort Dodge.
They will have two tournaments, one hosted by the Riders at Cownie sports complex, and the other an invitational at Sioux City, of which the team will be staying at a hotel.

February 26th Free Write

HARLEM SHAKE, the internet sensation that has taken america by storm. It is a really funny, sometimes inappropriate dance sequence.
My soccer team did a Harlem shake video last Sunday  after we played indoor soccer games. It was fun, and a good team bonding session, and it made us all laugh.
Speaking of soccer, I cannot wait for the season to start, and it makes me smile every time I think about it, and hopefully the weather will be much better.
It is ridiculous the way the weather has been the last couple of weeks. Yesterday there was no evidence of a snowstorm of this magnitude coming.
I feel like it's just bipolar, because it made me feel like spring wasn't too far away, and yet it still snows. It ruined the mood for me, which just sucks.
Workouts are almost done as well, this week being the second to last one. I'm not so tired anymore, I think that my body is more used to it, which is great.
I just have to make sure my grades stay up, and try my best to convince my mom to let me go to the tournaments, and the fort dodge game.
The tournaments are probably the best part of the season, with Sioux City easily taking the cake. We get to sleep at a hotel, and take part in a 4 or 5 game tournament, depending on whether we win or not.
It won't be very hard, and it's sure to be really fun. I should get a lot of playing time, because I believe that I have been playing well and working hard, and I hope the Coach has noticed.
I'm thinking of buying new cleats, but my mercurials still fit me well, and they aren't worn out, so I think I'll still wear them, bar a rip or two.
I've been more sleepy than ever, and I don't know the reason. I sleep from 8 pm until 5:30, which is a good 9 hours of sleep.

One thing that I did well was leaving space so that I had only two sentences per paragraph.
One thing that I didn't do well was spelling, I had to change a lot of words.
One thing I like was the way I changed subjects. I didn't leave things hanging, I made seamless transitions.
One thing I disliked was the way I made the sentences run on, I should have just shortened them and made more paragraphs.

Our New Jerseys

This school year has passed very quickly, and it is hard to choose some things that I liked about it.
One cool thing that happened to the roosevelt soccer team is the purchase of new jerseys. They look much better than last year's jerseys.
The reason we got them was because we cleaned out the Drake football stadium after home games for Roosevelt, and they payed us for them.
This means that we don't have to buy new ones out of our own pockets, and instead we can use the money to buy training jerseys and pay for hotels and rides.
The jerseys are really clean and we get them in both long sleeve and short sleeve in blue and white. They have a great design, and look good with the Roosevelt logo.
I think it's a good idea, because now our team looks better, and I like the blue design. Hopefully we can convince the coach to let us buy them from him.

King James Article

http://offthedribble.blogs.nytimes.com/2013/02/13/as-jamess-game-takes-off-comparisons-are-harder/?ref=sports

To be honest, I do not think that Lebron James is really that good. People never used to think much of him or made fun of him while he was playing for the Cavaliers.

Now all of a sudden, he is a hot commodity once he is put with stars in the form of Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh. He is able to flourish, and that has made people jump on the bandwagon.

I have never really been a fan of Lebron. My favorite player in the NBA is Rajon Rondo, and that is because of his passing skills.

It just doesn't seem like most of the people who claim to be "fans" of King James aren't really. It is just something that happens a lot in sports.

This article talks about the fact that Lebron was able to step his game up after his move to Miami. Most of the pressure on him was shared by his superstar teammates.

This distribution of pressure has enabled him to focus more on his game, something he wasn't able to do as the Cleveland "Savior". This has helped him win a Championship ring.

I think the Heat have a good chance of winning the finals again, hopefully they lose to the Celtics, but it's a small chance of that happening.

Something that happened to me this year

I really didn't have much that happened to me over the summer, or any other time of the year either. One thing that happened to me was the birth of my brother, even though that was in July.
His name is Adam, and as of right now he is turning 7 months old tomorrow, even though he acts like he is a year old already. He is very playful, and hardly ever cries, and that is only when he gets his shots.
Lately he has been crying more, but I think that is because he has started teething, which is pretty painful, or so I have heard. I can’t remember it at all, and I am glad I don’t.
He has made it difficult for us to take our eyes off of him ever since he turned 6 months, because he learned how to crawl and never stops moving. He moves at a pace that I really can’t understand at all.
I guess it gives him more freedom, which must be pretty valuable considering he barely ever leaves the house. I would be upset if I didn't understand a thing people were talking about, and if I couldn't stand.
He is an okay kid overall, especially when he doesn't need his diaper changed or his milk.

Afcon Article

http://sports.ndtv.com/football/news/item/203408-nigeria-lauds-footballers-after-afcon-win

I think that Nigeria beating Burkina Faso is an important thing that people should read because soccer is a worldwide sport enjoyed everywhere, but not the majority in America and the African Cup of Nations is a great tournament.
It showcasing the best of African football, and this year was no exception. This tournament decides which African nations are able to go to the world cup in Brazil in 2014, which is just over a year away.
The winner will be able to play against teams like Brazil, Spain, Germany, and Uruguay over the summer of 2013 in the Confederations Cup, which is a great prelude to what will happen during the World Cup.
Burkina Faso was my personal favorite to win the cup, even though they had never even been to a final. I still believe that they should have won, because I really liked their team.
They had beaten Mali, and Mali was my second favorite team to win. I was really hoping that they would face each other in the final, but the bracket had made that impossible.
In third place was Mali, after beating Ghana, who won fourth. These teams will be able to play in the world cup next year, if I’m not mistaken.

About Me

My name is Abdullahi Salim. I am a sixteen year old sophomore at roosevelt high school.
I am a soccer player for my school, I enjoy playing this beautiful game. It is really fun to pass the ball in a way that confuses the opponent.
I like to read a lot, and enjoy action novels, and sport-related books. Greek Mythology books are probably my favorite, because of the fantasy and the interesting stories they contain.
I love to run, I think mainly because it takes my mind off of whatever I have going on. I probably run about ten-fifteen miles every week.
Much of my time is spent playing games on my xbox. I probably do play fifa 13 the most, followed up by black ops 2 and Nba 2k13.
If im not doing those things I sleep, which is my favorite thing to do. I really love to sleep!
